Into D. E. Shaw & Co.

Well its almost long time i blogged, but i thought i'll resume it after seeing one of my frnd's and also partly of boredom.

August 21, 2006 is one of the most memorable, and also unforgettable day in my life. Yeah you guessed it right, that was the day when i was offered a job by D. E. Shaw & Co.

I still remember that day. The written lasted more than an hour. It consisted of questions that were really interesting (though that was not the time to appreciate the question paper). It was not a paper where you could score 90% and say pooh i lost 10. I think I did well relatively well, for I was selected for the interview. I like to share my experiences with all, but I wont, for I'm not supposed to.

That day after the written test I called my dad(he is my best frnd) and told him I didnt do it properly. He asked me what are my chances of success. I said him it all depends on how my counterparts have done the exam. And I went to wash my white shirt so that it will be ready for the next day!!!!!(for I had Cisco the next day on which I had all my hopes) And then I got to know that I was selected for the interview. I again called my dad and said I got selected to interview. But out of 10 they may take hardly 2 or 3. He said he was proud of having made into it and that was enough. Now it was my turn to shout back(always I used to talk negatively and he used to console me). I said if I can make into 10 out of 120 why not 3 out of 10(Yeah, negative logic works some times). He said ok lets see.

Then in the evening I went to Thej and asked him to explain me about Memory Management. He told me ok come Ill explain it. I said him no teach me tonight it will be useful for tomorrow. He was shocked and said go and focus for today. Well, I asked him to explain something. He explained me about some programs. I told him if I dont get selected even after such drilling then my life is completely waste!!!!

Then I was casually getting ready to interview when Yashwanth came and told me go they are waiting for you. I ran towards TnP. And thank god I was 30 minutes early. I decided to meditate to gain confidence, and it worked. And I was into my dream job. The one I never imagined especially after my Oracle incident.

I thought luck had a major role. Recently one of the interviewers told me I had a very good review. And yeah I know Im damn good(may be some of my frnds tell how much iam).

Well thats it for now. Too much boring is not good.
